Welcome!

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to keep in touch with friends and family better so I thought I'd try a blog. I'm starting a bit early to try to figure out how to run it and to work out some kinks! You can simply bookmark the page and stop back whenever the mood strikes. I am aiming to update at least every two weeks (don't want to bite off more than I can chew!) with some news and hopefully more photos.

The other nice thing about a blog is that I've left the comments section open so you can drop a quick note in when you visit...this way you don't have to futz with an email - you're already here, so saying "howdy" is super quick! Everyone who's been invited to the blog can see it, so there can be a running conversation or at least a bit of news from elsewhere in here, too. This blog is only for my friends and family so isn't open to the public at large.

I've just arrived back in Australia after my quick trip back to the US. I will get some trip news up in the next few days along with some photos, I hope!

Welcome to the blogosphere. My blog is http://maeverest.blogspot.com/ tho' it is several weeks since I last blogged. It has mainly library stuff but now and again I add personal details. I don't think I could bear the cold that you experienced in the US. Lucky you have a warm place to come home to.

Hmmmmmm, I guess I will give it a go, since I know I'm resisting the blogosphere (love that word, Maeve!). Good for you for trying new methods to stay better in touch.

Hey Kristin, nice blog! I'm not used to hearing family info until months have passed. Wish I was enjoying a warm summer day...
